A Versatile player, Vipraj Nigam’s Delhi Capitals debut asserts that the ongoing IPL season has profoundly influenced his life. He mentioned that the insights gained from being in the dressing room with some of the game’s legends will undoubtedly benefit him as he embarks on his early career. The 20-year-old, who was acquired by DC for Rs 50 lakh, has shown remarkable performance with both bat and ball during the IPL. Looking back on this transformative experience of learning from seasoned players.

Nigam expressed: “There have been a lot of changes in life. The IPL is always providing an opportunity to play alongside seasoned players, to learn from their methods, and observe their strategies firsthand. These experiences are invaluable to me, and I aim to incorporate these lessons into my own game.” Nigam praised the coaching staff of DC for helping him understand his versatile skills.
He shared this to JioHotstar, “When I was picked by Delhi Capitals, even before that, I had discussions with my coaches and the management. They always told me they see me as an all-rounder. They had seen my batting in league and domestic cricket, so the message was clear – while I would be expected to bowl 2-4 overs, I also had to focus equally on my batting.”
By thanking his childhood coach, he further said, “From our practice matches, that role was well defined. The coaches consistently told me to work on both aspects of my game.”
Nigam says, “I have played the UPT20 League. The best part for me was the support I got from my coach. He helped me understand that if you’re a bowler – and if you’re unable to hit sixes or finish games – you limit your overall growth. Spending time with him helped me develop as a player.”
In every IPL season, some stories inspire. In 2025, Vipraj Nigam’s Delhi Capitals debut was one such story. His journey reflects what IPL truly stands for: opportunity, exposure, and transformation. For young cricketers across India, he’s become an example. And for Delhi Capitals, he’s a valuable asset for the future.
