Scotland vs Netherlands T20 2025

Scotland began their T20 tri-series campaign with a confident win in the Scotland vs. Netherlands T20 match in 2025. They beat the Dutch side by 39 runs in Glasgow. From the beginning, Scotland looked focused. They scored 160 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Then, they bowled out the Netherlands for just 121 runs in 18.1 overs. It was a strong all-around performance.

This win felt even more special because it came just three days after a tough loss. The Netherlands had defeated Scotland in a high-scoring ODI in Dundee. However, this time, the Scottish team showed great determination. Despite a delayed start due to rain, their energy on the field remained high.

The Netherlands won the toss and decided to bowl first. Early on, their plan seemed to work. Aryan Dutt made an impact right away. He took a wicket with the first ball of his second over and repeated that in his third. First, he dismissed Watt. Then, McMullen followed. Scotland found themselves under pressure at 23 for 2.

Still, George Munsey countered with quick runs. He scored 30 off just 17 balls, including three sixes and two fours. However, he was soon dismissed by Lion-Cachet. After that, both Naylor and Leask were out cheaply. Scotland was once again in a tricky position.

At this point, debutant Finlay McCreath stepped in with confidence. Alongside Captain Matthew Cross, he helped rebuild the innings. The pair added 57 important runs for the sixth wicket. McCreath made a fine 40 from 28 balls, while Cross added 33 from 24. Their partnership gave Scotland a fighting total. Among Dutch bowlers, Dutt stood out with impressive figures of 3 for 19.

When the Netherlands came out to chase, they never found rhythm. Michael Levitt tried to keep things steady with a score of 36, but wickets kept falling. O’Dowd and Lion-Cachet fell early. Captain Scott Edwards was run out for just 4. After Levitt’s dismissal in the ninth over, the Dutch innings crumbled.

Scotland’s bowlers stayed sharp. Jack Jarvis took two wickets in a single over. Watt and Sharif also picked up two each. Leask was very economical, giving away only 19 runs in four overs and removing Levitt.

In the end, Scotland secured a dominant victory in the Scotland vs. Netherlands T20 match in  2025. They performed with intent and balance. Now, they look ahead to facing Nepal with full confidence and team spirit.
