The Assam tour of Namibia 2025 is a major opportunity for the state team. From June 21 to June 29, Assam will play five one-day matches in Windhoek. Even though the games are not officially recognized, they still provide an excellent international experience. As a result, the players will get to improve their skills and learn in new conditions.
To prepare for the tour, Assam held a six-day training camp in Guwahati from June 11 to June 16. During the camp, the team focused on match practice, swing bowling, and fast pitches. In addition, players trained in cooler weather to adjust to Namibia’s winter. Thanks to this focused effort, the team now feels better prepared.
Denish Das will lead the team. Even though he is young, he has shown excellent leadership. Moreover, Coach Subhrajit Saikia will support the players. He is well known for working with India’s Under-19 team. Together, they bring the right mix of energy and guidance.
The squad includes both experience and youth. Parvej Musaraf and Rishav Das bring steady hands and calm minds. On the other hand, young players like Ayushman Malakar add excitement and energy. Furthermore, fast bowlers such as Avinov Choudhury and Darshan Rajbongshi will use the pace-friendly pitches. Meanwhile, Ruhinandan Pegu and Sumit Ghadigaonkar will manage wicketkeeping duties.
Namibia is not going to be a walk in the park. They’ll be under the leadership of Gerhard Erasmus, and with standout players like Jan Frylinck, JJ Smit, and Ruben Trumpelmann on their side, they bring a wealth of skills and experience to the table. So, Assam needs to keep its focus sharp and give it its all in every single match.
