Glenn Maxwell’s century in MLC 2025 lit up the Oakland Coliseum and gave fans a night to remember. The Washington Freedom captain played one of the best innings of the season. He smashed an unbeaten 106 runs from just 49 balls. His explosive batting helped Washington Freedom defeat the LA Knight Riders by 113 runs. This was LA’s third loss in a row.

The match started with the Washington Freedom choosing to bat first. But things didn’t go well early on. Rachin Ravindra got out in the very first over. Then, Mitchell Owen scored a quick 32 runs from just 11 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes before Jason Holder dismissed him. Soon after, Andries Gous was also out. At the end of the power play, Freedom was 66/3.

Glenn Maxwell came in when the team was in trouble. Soon after, Jack Edwards and Mark Chapman were dismissed. By the 12th over, Washington had lost five wickets for just 93 runs. At that point, the LA Knight Riders looked in control.

But then, everything changed. Maxwell started slowly, scoring just 11 runs from his first 15 balls. But in the 13th over, he suddenly picked up the pace. He smashed three sixes in a row off Tanveer Sangha. That gave him confidence. He reached his half-century in only 29 balls. After that, and hit every bowler with power.

Maxwell hit Sunil Narine for three sixes in one over. In the final over of the innings, he smashed Jason Holder for three more sixes. He ended the innings with another big hit. In total, Maxwell hit 13 sixes, which tied the MLC record set by Nicholas Pooran. Thanks to his amazing knock, Washington Freedom posted a big total of 208/5 in 20 overs.

The LA Knight Riders had a poor start to their chase. Saurabh Netravalkar bowled out Alex Hales for a duck. Mark Adair got Sunil Narine out on the very first ball he faced. Unmukt Chand also failed to score. After four overs, LA was 12/3.

It only got worse. Maxwell took a sharp catch. Bowlers like Owen and Edwards kept taking wickets. Jason Holder hit a few sixes, but it wasn’t enough to save the team. The LA Knight Riders were all out for just 95 runs in 16.3 overs.

Glenn Maxwell’s century in MLC 2025 was the turning point of the match. Even though his team was in trouble, he stayed calm and took charge. Because of that, Washington Freedom won easily. In the end, it was a night full of big hits, smart moves, and a great win.
